In this exhibition proposal, A INTERIORS envisions a unique interior space that bridges Saudi Arabia’s rich cultural heritage with contemporary design.
By curating works from prominent Saudi artists alongside traditional crafts and artifacts, the exhibit presents a dialogue between the past and present, blending vintage charm with modern aesthetics.
The concept revolves around the question, “What truths await beyond the portal?”—an open invitation for visitors to journey through the evolving narrative of Saudi traditions and artistry. This exploration unfolds not through words, but through a multi-sensory language of design, symbolism, and visual storytelling. Each portal becomes a passage through time, bridging ancient heritage with contemporary expression, and encouraging contemplation of what is carried forward, transformed, or reimagined.
Portals—both tangible and symbolic—serve as the exhibition’s central motif. Each one marks a threshold between past and present, tradition and innovation, and embodies the layered stories that have shaped Saudi culture over time. By presenting historical portals and reinterpreting their meaning within a contemporary context, the exhibition honors the enduring spirit of
Saudi artistry, heritage, and beauty. These are not merely architectural relics, but gateways into the evolving landscape of craftsmanship, cultural values, and identity—a testament to resilience in the face of transformation.
