Khuslaram Suthar, Founder and Managing Partner of Noaf Interiors LLC.
While many architects find their inspiration in sketches and skylines, Khuslaram Suthar’s vision was shaped by the visceral reality of the workshop floor. Growing up in the UAE, Suthar—known to many of his peers and clients as ‘Kush’—didn’t just see buildings; he saw the meticulous joinery, the precision of the blade, and the discipline of the craftsman. This ‘inside-out’ perspective has defined his career, transforming him from an observer of his father’s trade into a leader who has bridged the industry’s most persistent gap: the distance between a brilliant design and a flawless execution. As the Founder, Managing Partner, and Architect of Noaf Interiors LLC, Kush has pioneered a model of architecture where accountability is as vital as aesthetics.
A Legacy of Technical Precision
To understand Kush’s approach, one must look at a childhood spent within the heartbeat of the UAE’s industrial transformation. Arriving in the Emirates as a toddler in 1988, he grew up witnessing the evolution of the region’s built environment through the eyes of a technical expert—his father, Mr. Jetharam Suthar.
Mr. Jetharam was a seasoned professional who served as a Production Engineer at the renowned Touchwood Decor for 18 years, executing high-end, large-scale projects before establishing the Noaf furniture industry in Ajman in 1993. “I regularly visited my father’s factory,” Kush recalls. “I saw that a design was only as good as the hands that built it. It taught me the discipline of the process—the precision of measurements and the patience required for a perfect finish.”
This early exposure led him to Sharjah Indian School, where engineering drawing became the bridge between his curiosity and his career. He realized that the technical discipline observed in the factory could be professionalized into an architectural practice that combined creative artistry with rigorous engineering.
The Architect’s Foundation
Kush pursued formal architectural education at the Aayojan School of Architecture in Jaipur, graduating in 2009. His academic years developed a strong foundation in design principles and project coordination, reinforcing the idea that architecture is equally about execution and the systematic solving of spatial problems.
Following graduation, he moved to Mumbai to work under the mentorship of the esteemed Architect Nozer Wadia. Known as a ‘stickler for perfection,’ Wadia’s influence was transformative. Working on elite, complex projects reinforced a critical lesson: design is a ritual of integrity. It allowed Kush to strengthen his professional sensibilities while working on high-value luxury builds. However, the call of the UAE and the entrepreneurial spirit he had observed in his father eventually led him back to Dubai.
In 2010, armed with specialized architectural training and hands-on industrial exposure, Kush founded Noaf Interiors. This venture was not a solitary one; it was synergized with the Joinery division of the family’s established Noaf Furniture Industry. Led by his two elder brothers, Lalaram and Tulchharam—who have remained his steadfast pillars of strength—this partnership provided the technical backbone that allowed Kush to turn ambitious architectural visions into tangible realities from day one.
Bridging the Gap: The Turnkey Vision
Upon his return to the UAE, Kush identified a persistent gap in the market: the disconnect between design intent and on-site reality. Fragmented responsibilities—where designers and contractors worked in silos—often led to communication breakdowns, cost overruns, and diluted quality.
“Noaf Interiors was born from a need for a single, consolidated partner,” Kush explains. “Clients were tired of managing multiple subcontractors and playing the middleman in disputes. As the founder, I wanted to offer end-to-end interior fit-out solutions where the creative vision is never lost in translation.”
Under his leadership, Noaf Interiors evolved from a joinery shop into a comprehensive design-and-build firm. Kush brought every component in-house, from electrical and flooring to complex project management. His “hands-on” leadership style ensures that “value engineering” never compromises design integrity. To maintain this precision, the company utilizes proprietary in-house software to micromanage every department, ensuring that the commitment of time and quality is never compromised.
Resilience and Leadership
Building a business in the fast-paced UAE market presented significant hurdles. Establishing credibility was the primary challenge in an industry where trust is the primary currency. “Managing cash flow and coordinating multiple stakeholders were significant tests in the early years,” Kush reflects. “Every challenge became an opportunity to refine our internal systems.”
A major turning point for the business was transitioning from a reactive stance to a proactive one—anticipating risks rather than simply reacting to problems. By investing heavily in planning and rigorous site supervision, Kush minimized disruptions. This resilience enabled Noaf Interiors to establish a substantial referral network based on the simple premise of delivering exactly what was promised, on time and within budget.
As a Founder and Architect, Kush’s leadership approach is collaborative and solution-oriented. “I believe leadership is about leading by example,” he says. “It means being present on-site, understanding challenges firsthand, and making informed decisions that respect both the creative and the commercial priorities.”
The Next Frontier: Sustainability
With over thirteen years of consistent growth, Kush is now expanding Noaf Interiors’ footprint. Having recently secured a G+1 construction license, the firm is moving into specialized sectors like hospitality and bespoke residential projects.
The most ambitious part of his vision involves a commitment to the environment. “The next target is designing and building sustainable, eco-friendly yet luxurious homes,” Kush notes. “We want to handle the complete journey—from the land purchase and architectural planning to the final construction and handover. It’s about creating meaningful spaces that reflect the future of how we live, with a focus on innovative materials and smart technologies.”
Advice to Aspiring Entrepreneurs
For architects looking to build their own businesses, Kush offers advice grounded in hard-won experience. He emphasizes that design talent is only the entry point; the real work of an entrepreneur lies in the details that happen off the drawing board.
“Learn the fundamentals of contracts and finance,” he advises. “Communication with the client is perhaps the most important role of an entrepreneur. If you lack these business skills, you will eventually have a client who isn’t happy, regardless of how good the design is. Stay committed to your ethics; long-term success comes from trust and consistency.”
Khuslaram Suthar’s story is a testament to the power of evolution. By honoring his roots in technical precision while embracing modern construction and sustainable technology, he is shaping the future of the Emirati landscape, one detail at a time.
